No. The Informatec Hotel Solution does not substitute the hotel management software (PMS), but complements it. Nevertheless, the Informatec Hotel Solution does not require a PMS, and can be used in hotels which do not have any PMS.

It is a set of software products manufactured by Informatec, consisting of the "INFORMATEC UNIFIED MESSAGE SYSTEM" and the "INFORMATEC STI WINDOWS ATENAS ONLINE CALL ACCOUNTING SYSTEM" software, which work in an integrated manner, and provide features and resources to be used by guests and administrative personnel at hotels, resorts, flats, lodgings etc.
Amongst the main features provided by the system are:
automatic answering service
voicemail
faxmail
automatic alarm call
audio text
minibar consumption control
room status
weather forecast
enabling and charging for broadband internet
telephone call accounting (using the INFORMATEC STI WINDOWS ATENAS ONLINE call accounting system )
It can also be integrated with various PMS (hotel management software) such as Micros (Fidelio and Opera), Sihot, CM Soluções, APP Sistemas.
It can be used with all PABX switchboards which can be integrated with an external voicemail system, and accept integration via data networks (TCP/IP), serial cable or DTMF signaling. Depending on the PABX switchboard being used in the hotel, it can also send commands to, for example, signal via a light on the guest’s handset that there are messages for him.

The Informatec VoiceMail prompts are currently available in five languages:
